The story begins in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia. Led by Eugenia Tucker Fitzgerald, our founders formed The Adelphean Society for "the mental, moral, social, and domestic improvement of its members." The Adelphean Society, later renamed Alpha Delta Pi, was the first secret society for college women. The principles of scholarship, leadership, sisterhood, and service guide over 215,000 women in more than 140 active collegiate chapters and over 150 alumnae associates of Alpha Delta Pi. Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has been committed to serving Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). RMHC provides a home away from home for families with seriously ill or injured children by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility. As Alpha Delta Pi's, we spend our time and energy volunteering at our local Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma City, as well as being leaders on campus in several organizations on and around campus. We are dedicated to the fulfillment of our academic achievements set forth by our founders.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (╬æ╬ª╬æ) is the first African-American, intercollegiate Greek-lettered fraternity. It was initially a literary and social studies club organized in the 1905–1906 school year at Cornell University but later evolved into a fraternity with a founding date of December 4, 1906, at Cornell. It employs an icon from Ancient Egypt, the Great Sphinx of Giza, as its symbol. Its aims are "Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love For All Mankind," and its motto is "First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All."
The Zeta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha was chartered on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma on November 3, 1969. The Zeta Sigma Chapter was recharted on the campus of Oklahoma City University on October 15, 2016

The Central Pantry is a food pantry for UCO students, faculty and staff. The UCO Central Pantry was established Nov. 17, 2012, after Community Engagement had conversations with the food pantries throughout the OKC community and was informed about the high number of UCO students utilizing their services. In response to this need, Community Engagement partnered with the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma to open the first collegiate food pantry in the state.

Central Pantry is a choice-model pantry. You choose the food you want to take home, just like shopping at the grocery store. Central Pantry is a partner agency of the Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma and is staffed completely by volunteers. We are able to help those in need through the donations we receive from the community we are assisting.

Operating Hours
Monday-Friday: 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Location
The Central Pantry is located in Room 151 on the first floor of the Nigh University Center. If there is not a volunteer available in the Pantry, visit Community Engagement in Room 141 of the Nigh University Center for assistance.

How to Shop the Central Pantry:
All that is needed to utilize the Central Pantry is proof that you are currently enrolled or employed at UCO and a current Client Application on file with Community Engagement. Once a form is on file and approved, clients can use the Central Pantry once per week.

Who Qualifies to Use the Pantry?
The Central Pantry is intended to be used by UCO students, faculty, and staff members who meet the gross income limits set forth by the Oklahoma Emergency Assistance Program (TEFAP) only. These limits are found by calculating 185% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Donate to the Central Pantry:
Donations to the Central Pantry are always welcome. All non-perishable food items are accepted. The Central Pantry also holds item-focused food drives throughout the year for items that the Pantry is typically low on stock.

Volunteer at the Central Pantry:
The Central Pantry is open 35 hours each week and is staffed by volunteers. We continually are looking for new UCO students, faculty and staff that wish to volunteer their time at the Central Pantry.

The Medieval Society at UCO is a student organization dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the culture of the Middle Ages. Working in coordination with faculty and guest speakers, the Medieval Society attemps to both understand and recreate various aspects of the period (500-1500 AD), through experimental archaeology. The Society also serves as an "educational organization," having as part of its mission, the dissemination of historically accurate information about the Middle Ages to the general public. The Pre-Medicine and Health Professions Club, or PM/HPC, was formed in order to provide necessary tools to those seeking a career in a health profession. The purpose of P.A.W. will be to bring students across campus together who are passionate about making the lives of animals better. Members do NOT have to be Pre-Vet students, but this club will be a support system for students who are interested in becoming veterinarians. This organization will exist to help better the lives of animals through: volunteer events, advocacy, education, and conversation. For members interested in veterinary medicine, this will be an unique experience to meet and work with others with similar interests and an opportunity to be a more successful and confident pre-vet student. We welcome students of all majors; the club's common interest is showing compassion towards animals. Goals for the club include: hosting guest speakers in the veterinary field, connecting pre-vet students, volunteering with local shelters, volunteering with adoption events, volunteering with small and large animals, helping animal rescues and shelters, decreasing depression rates of shelter pets, lowering the pet overpopulation statistics, advocating for better treatment of animals, educating on the benefits of spaying and neutering, and so much more!

The Student Transformative Learning Record, known as STLR, is like a second transcript that helps students track their growth experiences in core areas. These experiences are connected to the Central Six Transformative Learning Tenets: Global and Cultural Competencies; Health and Wellness; Leadership; Research, Creative and Scholarly Activities; and, Service Learning and Civic Engagement. Student growth within academic majors is reflected through academic transcripts and represents the tenet of Discipline Knowledge. STLR tracks growth in the other five tenets on a student's STLR Snapshot.

At UCO, we encourage you to explore the world. Whether taking part in a semester exchange program or participating in a UCO faculty-led study tour, the Centre for Global Competency equips students with the information and tools they need to make the most of study abroad and other U.S. based travel opportunities. By approaching these experiences with curiosity, adapting to new environments, and reflecting on your learning, you'll expand your perspective and cultural awareness – potentially earning STLR credit in Global and Cultural Competencies. UCO has 63 exchange partner programs in 28 different countries and offers more than 20 short-term, faculty-led study tours each year. Turning Point USA's mission is to educate students about the importance of fiscal responsibility, free markets, and constitutional rights through innovative campus activism and non-partisan, thought-provoking discussion. Mission
The University of Central Oklahoma's intercollegiate athletic program ("Athletic Department") has been in existence for over 115 years. The Athletic Department is composed of student-athletes, coaches, athletic administration and support staff. The nickname "Bronchos" was adopted in 1922 to represent the Athletic Department and University. The Athletic Department is an active member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association ("NCAA") and competes as a member of the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association ("MIAA"). The Athletic Department sponsors 15 varsity sports and is currently represented by more than 400 student-athletes.
