OKC Butcher (Fall 2024)
The OKC Butcher refers to the case of a potential serial killer in Oklahoma City in the 1970s and 1980s. Three victims were found in abandoned buildings and alleys murdered, mutilated, and dismembered. The victims were Cathy Lyn Shackelford, Arley Bell Killian, and Tina Marcia Sanders. Lauren Agee (Spring 2024)
Lauren Agee was a 21 year old woman whose body was found in 2015 at Center Hill Lake in Tennessee. Lauren has been at Wakefest with friends when she disappeared and her body was later found in the water. Her death was ruled an accident as authorities suggested she may have fallen or drowned. Her family on the other hand believes that there may have been foul play. The evidence, such as Lauren's unexplained injuries and the suspicous circumstances surrounding the time of her disappearance, pointed to a potential homicide. The original investigation has faced criticism for its handling and lack of answers, leaving Lauren's family still seeking justice. Tara Calico (2023)
The Tara Calico case involves the disappearance of 19 year old Tara Calico on September 20, 1988 in Belen, New Mexico. Tara was last seen riding her bicycle on a rural road near her home, but she never returned. A chilling clue came nearly a year later when a polaroid photo was discovered in a parking lot in Florida, showing a young woman who appeared to be Tara, along with a man and another girl. Despite extensive investigations, her fate remains unknown. Although there were theories about abduction and possible links to other missing persons cases, no solid evidence has been found to confirm the identity of the woman in the photograph or Tara's whereabouts.
