Karla Santos-Perez
My name is Karla Santos-Perez, and I am grateful for the opportunity to express my experience with the TRIO SSS LA META program and highlight my accomplishments during my undergraduate journey at UCO. My major is a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Spanish, expected in Winter 2024.
LA META has been a key component of my academic and personal development journey, serving as pillars of support by offering a number of services such as monthly newsletters, scholarship information, support services for upcoming school enrollment, advice on the impact of withdrawing from a class, and financial aid assistance. The effort they put in to keeping me informed and connected on campus has been beneficial to me.
LA META has created a feeling of community and inclusiveness by hosting seminars and activities that promote diversity, financial literacy and self-development. LA META's collective efforts they have lit my path by generously offering their time, help, compassion, and resources to help me improve academically and personally.
Finally, I'd like to thank the entire LA META staff, an amazing group of professional women whose faith in me touched my heart, as well as their dedication to empowering and supporting minorities by providing and ensuring that they have the resources and opportunities they need to thrive and contribute positively to society.
My journey and legacy are dedicated to creating a brighter, more inclusive future. With this goal in mind, after graduation, I intend to continue my education at Central, specializing in either Experimental Psychology or Behavioral Analysis. My aspiration is to become a bilingual mental health professional advocate/mentor for adolescents and young adults in my community while also encouraging participation in STEM fields.
Here are my accomplishments:
