September Meeting

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all settling into the academic year as best as you can. This semester has been an interesting one for sure, and I know you're all dying to know how Chemistry Club will be functioning this year.

To begin, Chemistry Club will be holding our meetings via Microsoft Teams. (Please press here to join the MS Team!) With COVID-19, we've decided the best way to keep everyone safe is by moving our meetings virtually. This may be hard for newer members to meet one another and overall, for members to interact with the faculty and their peers. Therefore, Chem Club has created interactive and virtual ways to keep everyone engaged and interested.

For members, we've started a mentorship program to keep students communicating with one another and to integrate new members into the department. If you are a student, please fill out the survey. If you are a faculty member, please share this information with any upperclassman or freshman who may be interested in this program. I have attached a flyer for the mentoring program below. 

Freshmen: When filling out the form, you will select "Mentee." We would love to have all the new freshmen be apart of this program! So please fill out the form!
Upperclassmen: When filling out the form, you will select "Mentor." We would love to have more mentors than mentees. In the event that this occurs, you may or may not receive a mentee. This will be determined on a first come, first serve basis.

Additionally, our first meeting will be held on September 29th, 2020 at 12:30 PM. The meeting will be available through MS Teams, and you should be able to join once you are added. This meeting will consists of meeting your mentor/mentee (if you wish to participate in this program) and a fun activity to get to know the Chemistry department!
