The story begins in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia. Led by Eugenia Tucker Fitzgerald, our founders formed The Adelphean Society for "the mental, moral, social, and domestic improvement of its members." The Adelphean Society, later renamed Alpha Delta Pi, was the first secret society for college women. The principles of scholarship, leadership, sisterhood, and service guide over 215,000 women in more than 140 active collegiate chapters and over 150 alumnae associates of Alpha Delta Pi. Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has been committed to serving Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). RMHC provides a home away from home for families with seriously ill or injured children by offering them a comfortable, temporary residence in proximity to a medical facility. As Alpha Delta Pi's, we spend our time and energy volunteering at our local Ronald McDonald House in Oklahoma City, as well as being leaders on campus in several organizations on and around campus. We are dedicated to the fulfillment of our academic achievements set forth by our founders.

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. (╬æ╬ª╬æ) is the first African-American, intercollegiate Greek-lettered fraternity. It was initially a literary and social studies club organized in the 1905–1906 school year at Cornell University but later evolved into a fraternity with a founding date of December 4, 1906, at Cornell. It employs an icon from Ancient Egypt, the Great Sphinx of Giza, as its symbol. Its aims are "Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love For All Mankind," and its motto is "First of All, Servants of All, We Shall Transcend All."
The Zeta Sigma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha was chartered on the campus of the University of Central Oklahoma on November 3, 1969. The Zeta Sigma Chapter was recharted on the campus of Oklahoma City University on October 15, 2016

One example of this continuing relationship with the Fraternity is found in the Associations of Alpha Sigma Phi, located all over the country where groups of Alpha Sigs have banded together for mutual friendship and service.

Following graduation, all members of Alpha Sigma Phi are encouraged to affiliate as active members with your chapter alumni association or volunteer for a chapter council. Affiliation with either of these groups is an essential part of the continuing participation in Alpha Sigma Phi.
