SAFE is proud to announce our collaboration with the Golden Ponies Writers Guild on an Open Mic Night. It will take place next Wednesday, October 2nd, from 6:30-8:30pm in the Will Rogers Room in the Nigh (NUC 421). Attached to this email is a form for you to reserve a time slot. You will be allotted up to ten minutes to perform poetry, prose, a song, a monologue, a skit, etc. More than one person may be at the mic at once, just know that it may cut into your time. However, you are also welcome to attend without performing. SAFE will be providing finger foods and drinks for guests to enjoy.

Uplifting Queer Voices

October is 2SLGBTQIA+ History Month, which was founded back in 1994 by Rodney Wilson, a high school history teacher in Missouri. He chose October for what was originally called Gay and Lesbian History Month due to the historical Marches on Washington that took place in October 1979 and October 1987, as well as National Coming Out Day, which is on October 11th. SAFE will also be tabling in the Nigh on October 1st to promote upcoming events.
