The Medieval Society would like to conduct trebuchet launches on Buddy's Green on Feb, 10th, 2025. The last time we set it up on campus was in 2021. Weather permitting, the activity will begin on campus at 9am, as it takes about three hours to erect the trebuchet. We will unload from the circle drive on the quadrangle side of the field. Construction consists of lifting wooden beams into position and attaching them using bolts and socket wrenches. Beginning at 12:30, we will be conducting launches from the northeast corner of buddies green towards the southwest corner. We will be using rubber kickballs that do no damage to the ground and also slow down significantly under air pressure to the point where they are easy to catch out of the air. We will be needing UCO barricades to help control the range and we will also have student positioned during launches to make sure no one unsuspectingly walks across the field. Tear down will begin at roughly 3pm and typically takes two hours before loading the pieces of the trebuchet into a trailer and returning them to my yard in Edmond.
