The Career Development Ambassadors student organization creates a leadership opportunity for you to develop your skills, get involved, and build lasting friendships while achieving career successes. As an Ambassador, through advising, promotions, and events you will work with these Career Competencies to gain valuable skills: Critical Thinking Analyze issues, make decisions, and overcome problems. Communication Facilitate inclusive group discussion effectively To engage positively and interact with nonjudgement. Can write/edit memos, letters, and complex technical reports clearly Collaboration Support individuals representing diverse cultures, races, ages, genders, religions, lifestyles, and viewpoints. Work within team structure, and can negotiate and manage conflict. Digital Technology Leverage existing digital tech ethically and efficiently to solve problems, complete tasks, and accomplish goals. Effective adaptability to new and emerging tech. Leadership Utilizes strengths of others to achieve common goals. Uses interpersonal skills to coach and develop others. Uses empathetic skills to guide and motivate; and organize, prioritize, and delegate work. Work Ethic Demonstrates integrity and ethical behavior, and considers larger community interests. Can learn from his/her mistakes. Skills, strengths, knowledge, and experiences. Career Management Identify and articulate one's skills, strengths, knowledge, and experiences relevant to the position desired and career goals. Identify areas necessary for professional growth. Navigate and explore job options, and takes necessary steps to pursue opportunities. Understands how to self-advocate for opportunities in the workplace. Global/Intercultural Fluency Value, respect, and learn from diverse cultures, races, ages, genders, sexual orientations, and religions.
