Making the Middle Ages Come Alive*
(*Now with Plague!)
(*Now with Plague!)
The Medieval Society at UCO is a student organization dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the culture of the Middle Ages. Working in coordination with faculty and guest speakers, the Medieval Society attemps to both understand and recreate various aspects of the period (500-1500 AD), through experimental archaeology. The Society also serves as an "educational organization," having as part of its mission, the dissemination of historically accurate information about the Middle Ages to the general public. In addition to the regular monthly meetings, the Society has a substantial annual project: a scholarly presentation at the Medieval Fair in Norman, Oklahoma.
Students can integreate themselves into a vibrant community of like minded students of all backgrounds. There are opportunities for new experiences on and off of campus, and hands on application of student scholarship.
